WV Secretary of State Office
The Secretary of State serves as the Chief Elections Officer of West Virginia and oversees the election process throughout the state along with the recording of official campaign financial records and candidate filings. The Secretary of State is a member of the State Election Commission, the Board of Public Works, and the State Armory Board.

Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education
The Byrd Center advances representative democracy by promoting a better understanding of the United States Congress and the Constitution through programs and research that engage citizens.
WV Youth Leadership Association
The Youth Leadership Association works to prepare the next generation of community, civic, and business leaders in Ohio and West Virginia. Our five pillars are: Leadership, Character, Service, Entrepreneurship, and Philanthropy. Through our local YLA Chapters and a variety of engaging programs, we provide opportunities for leadership and service to anyone who joins.
West Virginia Department of Education
The Office of School Improvement provides a framework for continuous improvement for all schools utilizing the West Virginia Standards for Effective Schools and provides support for Comprehensive Support & Improvement (CSI) Schools. CSI schools are identified based on the WV Balanced Scorecard efficiency indicators as required by West Virginia’s Consolidated State ESSA Plan. Technical assistance and on-site supports for identified schools are guided by the Diagnostic Review process.
WV We The People
We The People: The Citizen and the Constitution is a civic education program for elementary and secondary students. The primary goal of We The People is to promote civic competence and responsibility among the students. The program help students understand the history and principles of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. It is based on a five/six unit curriculum that takes students from historical principles to the role of the citizen.

WV State Bar
The West Virginia State Bar is an agency of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. The West Virginia State Bar serves approximately 9,000 active and inactive, in-state and out-of-state West Virginia licensed attorney. The mandatory Bar was formed in 1947. It is governed by a 25 member Board of Governors elected from across the State. The organization receives no State funding. Its activities are funded through membership dues, service fees and other self-generated revenue.
WV Read Aloud
Read Aloud West Virginia’s mission is to motivate children to WANT to read, because motivation is the critical first step in developing any skill. We work to change the literacy culture of West Virginia by keeping reading material in the hands and on the minds of our state’s children. Our goal is to involve families, the medical community, businesses, civic groups, and the society at large in building a culture that values reading.

The mission of West Virginia Public Broadcasting is to educate, inform, and inspire our people by telling West Virginia’s story. West Virginia Public Broadcasting is an indispensable resource for education, news and public affairs, emergency services and economic development.
