Celebrate America’s 250th birthday in West Virginia! There are lots of exciting ways to get involved all across the state — stay up-to-date on all the latest here.

WV News America’s 250 Essay Contest West Virginia students who have completed 8th grade through recent high school graduates are encouraged to enter this essay contest! Write about “What America means to me.” Submissions are due by June 24th, 2026. Click here for more information and to submit your essay.
