CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — The Harrison County Board of Education began their regular session Tuesday evening by recognizing the winners of the We the People competition from Robert C. Byrd High School’s advanced placement (AP) Government and Civics class.

“We have competed in a competition called the We the People of the Citizens of the Constitution. It is a national program, and the idea is that we have a mock congressional hearing. They are given three questions per team … and they have to become an expert in each question,” said Greg Phillips, who teaches the AP Government and Politics class at Robert C. Byrd High School.
